Hi

 

I am wanted simulate absorber using HYSYS.In our plant we use benfield CO2 absorption process. we are using K2CO3 solution(commercially named as Gimmarco vetrocoke solution).

 

I want to know what are the major reactions to be added(Since reactions takes place between ions).

How to aad components since the composition of GV solution is

K2CO3,V2O5,DEA,GLYCINE.

 

How to fix absorber number of stages,Regenerator no.of stages.we are using packed columns.

 

Please giude me regarding simulation.

I read a paper on this in hydrocarbon processing or Oil & Gas a year or two ago - specifically, modeling the system.

 

First, you will want to model this in ProMax - not Hysys. Second, there is no need to add any reactions, as ProMax will automatically model them. I've modeled one of these inits before, but it may be best to go to the source - UOP or ProMax. Those will probably be the top two experts on this.
