Does anyone know how to transfer HYSYS data from an heat  exchanger to a standard TEMA excel datasheet in order to avoid mistakes that come from manual transfer of data?

Thanks

Well, yes. I'll bet a lot of us do. AspenTech might even have something for you. Try their support site. Or send them a query.

You will want to get the macro that dumps heating/cooling curves, too. Once you get the basic stuff, then you can modify it to suit your needs. The support site is easy to search.

Hi,

Below link could be starting point for answer to your query.

Which parameters you need to export from hysys to excel?

Regards.

this is the answer I got from aspentech.

You can’t do this to HYSYS. First you have to export heat exchanger to EDR program and then it will Calculate TEMA for you.

One more thing you can do .Just go to Design < Parameter page of heat exchanger. And select Rigorous shell & Tube and select Interactive Size Rigorous Shell & Tube

The EDR window will come. Hit size EDR tab and then hit FULL EDR Browser button.

And Check Results Summary and TEMA Sheet here.

This is the only way but here HYSYS links with EDR.

I hope this will help you.

igas,

It seems by your reply that you didn't need any help. Did you have a reason to ask the question? Because there are macros at the AspenTech site that will transfer info to EXCEL without using other AspenTech software.  But if you have EDR? then that's probably the easiest solution. And some good examples on automation with EXCEL. Sounds like you need to search the support site ir you really need to know how. The macro I have downloaded and used dates back about 10 years, but I'm sure it will still work with the current HYSYS version.

You would need to modify the code to get it to a sheet format that you want, but that should be simple (not the same as quick).

Hey Bobby,

most code transfer from the HYSYS lines into excel. Based on that most process data in an heat excahnger can be transfered with no problem. What I am looking for is a code that will transfer mechanical details of the HE as well and looks like I have not had any luck. Can you post the code you presently use? Thanks.

igas,

I never worked with anything other than process data. And I haven't done much with HYSYS in the last 5 years. Whatever code I have from AspenTech you can readily find at AspenTech's support site. There is a lot of stuff that you will find useful. Good luck. Are you working in Texas somewhere?
