Following standards should get you started:

 

NFPA 24: Standard for the Installation of Private Fire Service Mains and their Appurtenances

 

NFPA 291: Recommended Practice for Fire Flow Testing and Marking of Hydrants

 

OISD-STD-117: FIRE PROTECTION FACILITIES FOR PETROLEUM DEPOTS, TERMINALS, PIPELINE INSTALLATIONS AND LUBE OIL INSTALLATIONS

 

Additionally the following book should help:

 

Industrial Fire Protection Handbook by R. Craig Scholl
