Dear all,

I have to design a centrifugal pump, that pumps water from a vaccum pump, in the calculation sheet,I need to fill in max and min level of the liquid pupmed, and as it's from a vaccum pump should I assume it's zero? or there is a minimum level I have to consider?

thanks in advance for your answer.

hi

maybe you can not use your spreadsheet for your calculation. Normally, max and min liquid levels are in the part of pump sizing for calculating pump head and estimating the max discharge pressure respectively. Although you don't use the spreadsheet, you can do the calculation same concept as the preadsheet has ever done.

You have to find
what is the min suction pressure of your new pump can have from your vaccuum pump?
and
what is the max suction pressure of your new pump can have from your vacuum pump?

After that, you can do your pump sizing as usual calculation.

hope this may help you

thank you for your answer, but that means I can calculate the pump without having level information befor the pump?

hi

yes,but please remind that the max suction pressure of new pump is come from the discharge pressure of the vacuum pump at high liquid level. the level is still a related parameter but not directly.
