I'm doing a design project on Sulphuric acid  production plant in which I have to design a sulphur furnace and a waste heat boiler. I have to perform a Chemical Engineering design (mathematical model and shortcut calculations) and mechanical engineering design. Could you please send me any information, suggestion or recommendation on the design of these two unit operations.

The following are the design details:
General:
Aim: Sulphuric acid (98%) Production = 29083.57 kg/hr
3+2 Double contact process.

Sulphur furnace: (combustion of molten sulphur to form SO2)

- combustion of molten sulphur at the rate of  9527.91 kg sulphur per hour (assuming 100% combustion) in 40% excess oxygen to produce 19034.42 kg sulphur dioxide per hour.
- dry air entry = 86078.39 kg/hr.
- Large horizontal cylindrical vessel of carbon steel lined inter refractory brick (including sulphur gun)?
- Hot or Cold Shell Design?
- Maximum gas strength 11% Sulphur dioxide

Waste heat boiler
- Temperature outlet to converter = 430 deg C

Thank you very much

Waste heat boiler (Electrical boiler ) doesn't work practicality as the electrodes got damaged by the period of time may be 15 or 20 days . Theoritically system is ok but practical ..
