Hi there,

I am on the track of designing a heat exchanger for my project.

I was wondering where i can get the recommended standard tube lengths. I know TEMA has it but the library does not have a copy of the standards book.

Any ideas where i can find this?

Cheers!

Hi

You can find the Standard Tube lengths for Heat Exchangers in "Process Heat Tranfer" by Kern. I have seen the lengths given in this book. The length is usually 16ft, 20ft (shorter length can also be used, it is given in the book). You can also get this information from any other Heat Exchanger design book.

Hope it helps.

Regards
Ali

hi thre !
I completed my project on designing n optimisation of heat exchanger(shell n tube). And i found diff sets of tube lengths used both by Kern n Ludwig ( 8 ft and 20 ft) . So goin after my prof's advice i consulted the corresp heat exchanger standards (IS 4503, here in India ) So u can go for the standards available thre in UK or international stds.
Hope it'll help !!
