Hi

I wanted to do chemical cleaning of tube side of a vertical heat exchanger  used in urea plant. there about 400 tubes of 4 m length made of titanium and 3/4 " OD. the main product of  contamination is found to be  hard biuret deposits and little urea . what are the possible solutions to clean the system. I got suggestions of using hot water solution treatment or hot alkali circulations. Is there any other methods or solvents available. Thanks in advance.

Hi ,

Why don't you consider HP cleaning ( > 700 bars) if you have access and can remove easily the heads ?

Better control !

Sir

contractors recommend HP jetting after chemical cleaning, because sometime if the scales are too hard to remove in some situations it  may take weeks to clear inspection. 2yrs ago we recommended jetting first and it took a week to clear the tube blocks and then we had to  go for chemical cleaning again to remove fouling materials. HP jetting was done at 15000psi, that's why I ask for any alternate solvent or solutions
