Hello dear fellas,

I am making a spreadsheet to calculate the heat loss in a pipe with insulation. I took my guidance  from GEANKOPLI's transport processes and unit operations 3rd Ed.

I successfully made it to calculate q. But I am stuck translating the watt heat loss into degrees.

You can have a look in my work, attached. (Check the second sheet for "Example" from the book). I was trying to get change in temperature dT

I simply used q=m c dT ==> dT=q/mc

but when I put large length of pipe. dT becomes quite big instead of dropping to equilibrium with surrounding.

Can you please enlighten me on what is the proper way to calculate dT at the end of my pipe when flow is continuous.

Thank you

Basaar
