Dear all,

I am using hysys v7.3 and i want to compare water viscosity increase with temperature but hysys does not give me any value( it shows empty)

Can anyone assist me?

Thanks

At what temperature and pressure? Which fluid package you are using?

Regards.

PR,

Temp=20C

Pressure= 1bar

Please I found discrepancy between hysys, the formula and the values known from the internet

1) check that your package does allow to calculate viscosity of liquid water

2)  make sure your operating conditions are in the range where the liquid viscosity correlation is applicable,

(usually simulators can extend that range with generic correlations)

if your stream contains only water a solution could be to select a specific thermo model,

for example in PRODE PROPERTIES I select IAPWS 95 ,

the IAPWS 95 model in PRODE includes very accurate correlations for transport properties of water

including viscosity,

check if there is something equivalent in your software.

Sacarove,

PFA snapshot. Hysys calculates viscosity.

For water, one need to use ASME Steam FP, although in this case PR gives the same viscosity value.

Try to make a new hysys file and check if same error is there. You may post your file here to check for errors.

Dear,

Yhank you for your contribuitions.

I was using GCEOS bceuase I have values of volume shift that I wanted to to match, but I noticed that when I used the volume shift values hysys did not calculate viscosity only for water. I had to use Costald.
