I am supposed to design absorption tower for given production rate of ...100,000 tonnes/yr. sulfuric acid.
somebody please help me in this regard.
There are lot of variables like mass transfer coeff., henry's const. ,etc. that i cudnt find.
Any solved example or weblink for this kind of problem can prove highly helpful for me.

thanks in advance.

Hi smyk,

Reaction of SO3 with water seems instanteneous evolving great heat of reaction. So, the most part of the SO3 shall be absorbed in Oleum or c-Sulfurcid Acid intead of water. The sulfuric acid can be produced by diluting the SO3- or H2SO4-rich fluids with water.

The plant capacity is not small at all. Quite limited data are available in generic domain, so why not refer to the major licensors such as Monsanto Enviro-Chem etc.?
