good day ladies and gentlemen,
im a Che student doing a design project where ive reached a point in the design that i need your help with.
my problem is that we have a stream that contains water and IL (Ionic Liquid) at 50 degrees C , we were asked to separate the two components using flash separators.
the feed flow rate and compositions are known , and at 50 degrees Celsius the vapor fraction = 0 , we only know the viscosity, molar mass and density of the IL, and THAT VAPOR PRESSURE OF IL IS NEGLIGIBLE when Temp is LESS than 200 degrees Celsius.
can someone please explain the "vapor pressure is negligible" and how can it be used to separate the streams and if there is a better separation process than the flash separation approach based on these data?
thank you very much
