shady,

As far as I know, by installing acoustic sensors inside the combustion chamber abnormal noise due to hot oil leakage generated at or around the rupture could be detected and monitored in relevant control panel...

The Oxygen content at the bridge wall will be a good indication of some extra combustion inside the furnce (in case of heavy leak).

one of the shell standard on furnaces also explains in detail the ways of knowing such leaks and action to be taken.

RahulaVyas,

Can you please share the standard number with us?

Shady Othaman,

You should be able to notice level loss in the hot oil system. I'm not aware of the system that you are working. I can try to quote what i learned in a Waste heat boiler ( Tube side - process gas and shell side - steam generation) -

When we have a leak, we will be able to see quality issue in the steam. we have analyzers in the steam header to catch that. since there is a huge pressure difference between the tube side and shell side.

thanks for all your reply

dear rahulavyas,

can you attach please shell standards on furnace

also I think may be it can be detected by installing PDI (presuure defferential indicator) for the tube inlet and outlet but I have doubt about that it may increase if there is a  fouling inside the tubes, am I correct?
