I need to design a wash tank to wash a polymer with water in a industrial scale but,

What considerations I need to consider?

What is the typical residence time to wash in a stirred tank?

More info are required to help you . Which type of polymer ? what is the goal ?....?

The more you share  the greater chance you have to get a meaningful answer.

The polymer is polyhydroxybutyrate (a polyester). The goal of the wash is retire the rest of residual biomass and the solvents are 1,6 L water and  0,8 L ethanol per kg of polymer.

Probably after synthesis you will need a dewatering step ( Filtration or centrifugation) to remove the liquid and probably a washing step to eliminate the residual liquid .
