Hello everyone.

 I am looking into options for Slurry filter[FCC Bottom] to remove ash and catalyst particle.
Please advise on available option.

Dear Ronak,

 

I have experience of gulftronic filter which will work same like Electrostatic precipitation in presence of glass beads. Which works fine.

 

Regular beads addition is required.

Hi Manoj,

 

I feel that gulftronic filter is more effective in catalyst particle separation. Today my main concern is to remove ash content. We have used gulftronic but it is not performing well for ash.

I heard some PAL filter but I do not have much knowledge about performance.

Advanced filtration system design and sintered metal filters demonstrate long term filter operating performance in the separation of catalyst fines and ash content in FCC bottom slurry. Unlike centrifuge or electrostatic techniques, the filtration media acts as a positive barrier to remove downstream catalyst contamination, sintered metal filtration using an inside-out filtration configuration, provides a reliable method of achieving a high quality slurry oil product by reducing catalyst and ash content. The backwash capability also provides an economical alternative to the use of settling tanks.

 

Due to variations in slurry oil viscosity, catalyst particle size and slurry concentration, the preferred method of selecting filter media is via laboratory analysis. Feasibility tests verify filter-operating parameters such as particle removal efficiency, pressure drop vs. solids loading, recovery pressure after backwash and cycle length. Many factors need to be considered when performing these types of evaluations, experience in similar service is often used by many filter manufactures where test data is not available, often hiring a qualified consultant to perform an evaluation is money well spent if you are to achieve a viable installation that will meet your expectations.
