Dear Theking213:
It seems correct to me, assuming that the volume is constant. So you have the additional relation q_1+q_2=q_out.
Best regards.

Great, thank you for your help.

Hello,
Francisco is right. The component A mass balance equation is correct, but limited to case of constant volume of reaction phase within reactor.
In addition to this, I want to emphasize other limitations for the validity of last form of equation:
- perfect mixing;
- $ k=0 (because it was included in constants C^, K1 and K2);
- $ q_1=0, $ q_2=0, $ q_out=0 (because they were included in constants, C^, K1 and K2)
, where: $(var) is time derivative of (var).
In order to extend validity of model, the above mentioned constants must be replaced with functions of time C^(t), K1(t), respectively K2(t).
Other small observations:
- There is written "Fluid volume is V cm³ ", so don't forget that, in equation, volume unit in flows and concentrations is m³;
- k should have units of 1/s in the equation.
BR,
Lucian

Hey thanks for answering, yeah I forgot to mention that the volume remains constant, I do understand how to change it if the volume does change. Thanks again.
