Hi guys !

 

I want to know if there is any standard where i can find how to size inlet and outlet pipe diameters of the PSV after the designing of the latter ?

Based on the API 520 I found that a criteria of 3% of pressure drop of the set pressure should be verified.

 

should we use the API 14E for velocity check for each case(liq,gas,gas/liq) ?

Hysys perform the line sizing of PSV based on inlet and outlet steam sonic velocity ? Is this an important criteria ?

Thank you for your quick reply and for valuable document given by Mr Breizh. I want to know if there is a standard or a link where i can find a rigorous psv pressure drop calculation step by step equations . thk you very much
