To All:
Hydro energy -- another interesting engineering topic.
Hydro has been out there for many years making a significant contribution in the power generation arena and it is a proven technology.
Currently, hydro is more important then it has ever been.
There are two major factors that make me believe so.
First, hydro generates electricity with no emissions -- which is extremely good and beneficial when dealing with the global warming issues and problems.
Second, hydro power can be a big contributor in moving towards hydrogen economy -- operating all the time at full capacity (baseload operation) and optimum efficiency regardless of what the demand is (when the demand is not as high as the optimum power generation capacity, the available power generation capacity gets used to generate hydrogen).
As we know from the engineering point of view, hydro is a renewable technology.
So I would like to find out what you think about the hydro energy and its new proposed role and significance in the meeting the demand for additional power generation ...
Thanks,
Gordan
