To All:
Currently, the US DOE is pushing an initiative to build the world's first integrated sequestration and hydrogen production research power plant. The objective is to create the world's first zero-emissions fossil fuel plant. When operational, the prototype will be the cleanest fossil fuel fired power plant in the world.
The initiative is to address the issue of global climate change. The production of hydrogen will support the creation of hydrogen economy and fuel pollution free vehicles and the use of coal will help ensure America's energy security by developing technologies that utilize a plentiful domestic resource.
I would like to invite both Forum members and visitors to start a discussion on Future Coal Fired Power Plants -- ask questions of interest, share knowledge and experience related to Future Coal Fired Power Plants (benefits of having zero emissions power plants using coal).
Also, everybody is welcome to contribute to the Future Coal Fired Power Plants topic.
Thanks,
Gordan
Below are a few plots related to combustion -- complete combustion of coal, oil and gas with air at standard conditions (298 [K] and 1 [atm]) with no heat loss and stoichiometric conditions.
