Hello, thank you in advance for your assistance.  This is my first post to this forum, but I have frequented this site in the past and have found it very helpful.  I am going through the process of designing a simple sparged tank absorber for absorbing HCl fumes exhausted from a small 230 gal 31% HCl Acid storage tank.  Do any members have a successful calculation process for accurately calculating required liquid level above a sparger to achieve a desired reduction in gas fumes based on mass transfer from bubbles to liquid phase?  Primarily looking for a calculation process to input my known values into, I am comfortable calculating composition of the inlet fumes and exhaust flow rates, and have in mind desired absorber outlet concentration/removal efficiency, just not certain how to come about the details such as required sparger depth.  Thanks.

I saw this post was here since some time ago, without comments. Not sure if solutions are concluded.

I am curious about why the acid tand was not capped, so no fume coming out. To get a absorber would be costly for this application, low pressure, small flow rate, high acid concentration, etc.
