Hi all,

I have been tasked with designing a centrifuge for glycerol/FFA separation, as part of my final design project. Finding it very difficult to get started on the design process/sizing as I can't find much information regarding standard dimensions of a tubular bowl centrifuge, or any data indicating required residence time for separation to occur. Any leads/heuristics would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ed

Hi all,

I have been tasked with designing a decanter centrifuge separation, as part of my final design project. Finding it very difficult to get started on the design process as I can't find which software i use, and also if any one can tell me some related book

Thanks,

Hi Yasin.

Let you try your favorite engine and Key in Decanter centrifuge handbook .

and Youtube for better understanding (videos)

Good luck

Hi, I am slightly late to this thread. I am also designing a tubular bowl centrifuge and I have found the attachment which was attached very useful. I was wondering if you had any resources or information concerning the sizing and design of an industrial sized centrifuge. The previously attached document is lab scale, and I can scale this up I think which could give me initial geometries which I can then attempt to optimise, but I was wondering if you were aware of any industrial scale values available to the public?

I know my concentration, particle size, through put rate, and I am attempting to calculate the required tubular length and radius as well as the rotation speed.

Thanks

Alex

Alex,

Probably better to contact vendor based on your scope .They should be happy to size the equipment.
