Hi,

Siphon in PT or PG is used for the prevention of damage of pressure element sensor. It is often used when pressure has to be measured for high temperature fluid like steam. As far as I have seen several document I have observed that it is mainly used for steam.

My questions are-

1. Should I use siphon for any type of vapors having high temperature that could get condensed when get contacted with separating medium within the siphon?

2. Could I use siphon for nitrogen or other type of gases at high temperature around 100-150 deg C?

3. Is to important to use siphon for high temperature liquid?

4. What could be the separating medium properties of siphon? Usually water in siphon is used for steam line as condensate of steam is compatible with water.

Many Thanks.

Diaphragm seals are commonly used to protect pressure transmitters.
