System: Crude Tank Vapor Recovery Unit Compressor/HC Condensate Pump Discharge

Coalescer in downstream of Condensate Pump discharge - for moisture/water removal before export into a 35 km long pipeline with destination to a Gas Processing Plant

Pump: 1000 psi discharge Pressure

1. Coalescer P&ID has been attached - in Coalescer outlet, which would be located downstream of Condensate Pump discharge, does it require a Pressure Control Valve in the Coalescer Outlet?

2. What other Over Pressure Protection is required other than PSVs in Coalescer like any Blowdown Valve BDV?

3. PSVs are already considered.

Something is wrong with your query. The P&ID shows psv set at 200 psig.

Your question is difficult for me to read comfortably due to the colored highlighting, but I will contribute some comments from what I understand about your situation:

1) A pressure control valve is not needed unless you need to control pressure. Why do you suspect the need to control pressure?

2) The PSV should be sized to protect the vessel from overpressure for all reasonable scenarios. Blowdown valves are not required for overpressure protection if the PSV is already sufficient.

3) If the PSVs are 'already considered' then what is the reason for your questions?

1. P&ID attached does not belong to the system in the query. i attached because it was similar to my query.

2. Pump discharge 1000 psi, 35 km long pipeline with destination in Gas Processing Plant @ 560 psi.

3. In another unit export condensate to the same 35 km long pipeline, a PCV is available, along with a Blowdown Valve.

4. Trying to understand why the existing design is having a PCV at Coalescer outlet.
