Dear All

I am working on 48" and 63KM Pipeline manual depressuring through the existing Vent stack. I know the all gas properties, conditions and existing vent stack maximum flow rate. I want to calculate the Restricted orifice size. I try to use the Aspen Hysys 8.6 Depressuring utility.

Initially, I try to depressuring the pipeline in 10 hours but the peak flowrate which hysys has calculated was much higher than the existing vent stack max. gas flow rate (23621.69 Kg/hr). So I changed the depressuring time upto 3 days to achieve the desire result. But again the peak flow don't match with the  existing vent stack max. gas flow rate so I again increased the depressuring timeupto 5 days but now hysys is giving error and don't converge.

I need to know either this way of calculating RO size is correct? or if anyone have any other way to calculate the RO size.

I try the ANKUR excel sheet to check the results but this sheet is not on dynamics. Please check the attachment.
