Hi there,

This query is related to the same title and description that was posted some time back on the forum. Our chiller is running fine what bothers me is why is the discharge temperature very close to the saturation temperature even though the suction temperature is a bit superheated.

Art had given me an elaborate answer along with a fig. which I am attaching now with further details.

my interest is to know can the discharge temperature of a ref. compressor be at saturated conditions. The local TI also shows the same temperature reading.

Will opening of the vanes further increase or decrease the discharge temperature.
At the NIST site the pressure reading for R134a are they absolute or gage.I am asking this as the control panel for the chiller showing the suction/ discharge pr and temp and the corresponding saturation conditions.or is the panel indicating absolute pressures for the refrigeration cycle. At 43.996°C and 11.3bar R134a is saturated.
