Hi every body, I'm recently working on a project and i try to simulate it with hysys, i use Acid gas package( Amine package in old versions) so i have to enter real number of trays in culmns and i know the real number of that, now my question is that must i define tray efficiency or it should be calculated by hysys? and if thats a work that should be done by me, so how can i know that efficiencies and then enter those?

thanks in advance

You need to have operating data to tune the model especially column tray efficiency. Hysys generally doesn't or can't estimate mass transfer efficiency. You may refer literature for typical efficiency for various services to start with.

If it's an existing operating unit, collect the operating data and tune or new unit then get the relevant data from past projects or literature with adequate safety margins.
