Hi All,

I am calculating nitrogen consumption to a feed hopper connected to screw conveyor. Blanketing should be maintained at pressure of 20 mbarg.

I couldn't find a reference with detailed explanation and calculation (like API 2000 App. F) for my situation. So, I am considering below assumptions:

1. since the hopper contains solid and nitrogen, I assume thermal expansion/contraction is negligible;

2. Outflow (volumetric flow) should be replaced by 20 mbarg Nitrogen.

So, I am considering the Nitrogen consumption (act.m³/hr) will be equal to volumetric outflow.

I appreciate your comment.

Regards,

ARM
