I am currently doing Aspen HYSYS simulation for caustic  wash tower (CO2 removal). I use three-phase absorber and it works fine without reaction. When I activate the reaction the column becomes unconverged. I try to rerun with changing parameters but it doesn't work until I deactivate the reaction

Any help from anyone worked before with three-phase reactive distillation ?

You probably won't get a realistic outcome with any simulator. You need information from an experienced designer.

I would not do this in Aspen HYSYS.  Aspen Plus, using RATEFRAC, would be the best choice.  However, you will need reaction kinetic data and mass transfer information in order to initialize the column model.
