Hey Guys

 

I have been given the assignment at work to calculate the amount of Sodium carbonate needed to keep the pH level of the product of the SO2 + NaCO3 reaction at a specific level. 

 

It has been a few years since I was in a chemistry course and I was hoping I could get a little guidance on the calculations needed to calculate the pH level of a specific reaction. I remember that I need to find the concentration of the [H+] and [HA] but how to relate that to the overall molality of each reactant.

 

Would someone be willing to help me with this?

Correction: I realized I wrote NaCO3 instead of Na2CO3.
