Hello.

i have been assigned a task to design a HVAC for residential purpose. for which i have already calculated the volume of air in the room, please give some typical guidelines to what to do to design a HVAC system and also share the relevant material and reference links from where i can pursue technically.

ASHRAE (https://www.ashrae.com/) provides calculation guidelines for the HVAC sizing and the duct work . I have used HVAC-Calc (http://www.hvaccalc.com/) for the Manual J calcs and found it a useful tool. I suggest you look for discussion boards for HVAC professionals on the internet. I am not an HVAC guy by training or profession, but found the HVAC forums fun to read. They may or may not help you if you ask -- HVAC guys sometimes tend to be cantankerous.
