Hi all,

 

I'm trying to simulate the LPG Merox process but I'd a lot of problems. I'm using a UniSim Design to get a dynamic simulation for this process. I'd used a Peng Robinson as a Fluid Package and also I created a solids hypotetical components to handle NaOH for example and other components as a typical reactions results.

 

The LPG prewashed Static Mixer was represented as a Conversion Reactor in order to set the main prewashed reaction: NaOH+H2S--->NaSH+H2O however I don´t obtain any products, my reactor doesn't have any conversion.

 

Could you give ideas or suggestions in order to fixed my simulation?

You cannot accurately model this with Peng Robinson.  You need an electrolyte model to deal with the aqueous phases and reaction therein.  OLI has software that can do this, either standalone or as plugins to Unisim, Aspen HYSYS or Aspen Plus.

I know that electrolyte model is the best option, but my company don't have the licence for that. We have to use the available Unisim's tools in order to obtain the process, with more error for sure.  

 

Any other suggestions? I'm very limited with the software.

If you lack the correct modelling tools, why bother?

with hysys v11. you should acid caustic wash fluid package ..
with unisim maybe use oli package

pengrobinson is equation state . its not available with ion .

with ion sysystem .you should use model ( such as Exnrtl,oli,elec nrtl,uniquac,unifac
