Dear professionals

I have recently been assigned to the utilities section of my industry and have been handed the task to evaluate the performance of ion exchange demineralization train due to the early exhaustion of the resin resulting in short run lengths recently.

Can someone please assist me in the way forward of what tests to conduct and how to evaluate that whether cation tower, degasifier or anion tower is the bottleneck in overall high outlet conductivity?

I hope to get the necessary guidance here.

Regards

Hi ,

Reading the PPT attached you may find pointers .

Note : on my side I have an experience with fines generated over the time which affected the performance of the treatment , one way to check was to record the DP of each bed vs flow .

Hope this is helping you.

Good luck

Thank you for this presentation. Do you have the flow charts in the presentation in better resolution. I am having difficulty in reading them.

Muhammad Waqas:

Purolite is an ion exchange resin manufacturer and obviously has interest in supplying you with the proper resins.

Why don't you contact them (they list several phone #s in their website) and ask them for a legible copy of the article written by one of their employees, Brian Windsor?  I am sure they would gladly share legible and readable copies of the algorithm charts they have sponsored in the original pdf article.
