Hello!

I'm doing my Master's thesis on the production of nitric acid.

I came across some evaporators i need to simulate on Hysys but there isn't any in the software (10.1).

I was thinking on adding an heat exchanger and then a separator. But i'm not sure if this is the best way.

How would you do it?

Thank you

So, what is the service for this evaporator?

Thank you for the reply Bobby

Is is used for separating the water from the ammonia as it heats it.

The process usually uses anhydrous ammonia. If there is water in the ammonia, it will dilute the acid product. If you don't have anhydrous ammonia, you will need a fractionator, not a simple evaporator.

if you use hysys dynamic ,you should use tube bundle function to simulate ketlle or evapor (chiller )
if you use steady state hysys .you should use heat exchanger and seperator
