In the sketch is a strange PSV installation I saw recently.
Relief from the thermal relief valve should return to the tank. Because of the shortage of nozzles, the relief flow is connected on the inlet line of the tank PSV. 1m long inlet pipe DN100.
The risk what I can see is liquid flash across the Thermal relief valve, if pressure is high enough, the tank PSV opens.
If no flash across the TRV, the liquid will go down through the pipe to the tank.
Is there a risk that I really have to change this set-up?
Thanks.
