If the system has a reclaimer or something, then you might solve the chlorine accumulation by increasing the blow down rate.

Hi imrannawaz,

First of all, where this increase of chloride content come? is it coming from the gas feed which means it is unavoidable or from something else.

Further it would be better to give a brief explanation about the type of Amine system that you are using, simple PFD would help a lot.

We are all here engineer after all, not fortune teller. We can try to help what with giving some solutions from our past experience but we cannot simply guessing as our credibility also in question. especially considering that this is an open forum when people can freely judge others.

Regards,

Hi.
I have experienced two reasons:
1. if your amine cooler uses sea water, it would be because of exchanger gasket failure which contaminates amine with sea water
2. if your feed gas is coming directly from a wellhead, wellhead facilities would have some problem in water separation which send salty water, containing high chloride into pipeline
