Dear all,

What are the cases in which the LMTD cannot be used?

What is the zone analysis used in the exchangers?

Thank you in advance!

The standard LMTD can should not be use if there is not a straight line heat release.

LMTD can not be calculated if one of end point differential temperatures is the same as the other,    (LMTD =   (Δt1 - Δt2)/ln (Δt1 / Δt2),  ln 1 = Error)

Zone analysis should be used if significant difference or heat-duty is involved in the particular zone of a exchanger.

Stefano, Kim
