Hi,
The anti surge valve of a centrifugal gas compressor is clamped (Software clamp) at 65%. The output high clamp on the anti-surge controller is used for start-up purposes. The valve should not be open mortt than 65 % during start-up otherwise the motor trips on high motor current. But this clamp always remains activated and sometimes the compressor needs more opening during running operations with no fresh feed to the compressors (cool down process of the plant) or lack of inlet gas pressure or flow (in case of a backflow) . Therefore we need to disable this clamp after the start-up in order to reduce the effect of vibration.
Please advise if it is possible or not and when exactly we can disable the software clamp. Is it when the steady state flow is being reached?
Best Regards,
