I work in ammonia plant compressor room, our syngas compressor operates at 200 kscg pressure, if that pressurised pipeline cracked and led to a jet fire what is the best way to eradicate that fire?
Thanks in advance..

Shut off the fuel and get away. Cool the area with water spray if possible to keep the flames from spreading. Let the fire burn out then rebuild if the economics warrant.

Hi,

You should talk to your supervisor and/ or HSE manager  about the condition in your facility . PM program should be in place to prevent such event .

Good luck

Should i use a B C type fire extinguisher online to the jet fire and then depressurise the system and take a shutdown of my plant and attend that pipeline crack? Is it the right way?

Thanks in advance
Reynold
