I am working with a client who is experiencing acetal contaminant issues in their final 200 proof Ethanol Stream. Overall concentration ranges from 20-30 ppm and it needs to be below 10 ppm. The feedstock to their process is fuel grade 190 proof Ethanol. It is believed that the acetaldehyde within the fuel grade feedstock is reacting with the alcohol to create the acetals. Does anyone have knowledge of resin adsorption technologies or vendors that have experience with removing acetal or acetaldehyde from non-aqueous streams? The goal would be to either remove the acetaldehyde from the feed or remove the acetal from the final product.
Thanks,
