Hi,
i am working on the design of a NOx-scrubber with recirculation of nitric acid formed within the scrubber and addition of hydrogen peroxide to facilitate the formation of HNO3 in the liquid phase.
I run into some problems trying to simulate the process with simulation software (currently used: DWSim).
I am not sure how i should define my system (type of reactor, thermodynamic model etc.) to take into consideration that:
1) the nature of the process is highly complex and none of the default reactor types in simulation softwares seems to be a perfect fit for such system (reactive absorption)
2) reversible reactions take place in both liquid and gas phases
3) material transfer between liquid and gas phases could have significant impact on the NOx-removal efficiency from the gas phase through formation of HNO3 in the liquid phase
If anyone have experience in this particular topic/similar project, any tips is greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Jochen
