Dear Sir,

How to configure Strip Charts in HYSYS easily. I have put all settings as per the help section, but my strip chart is not moving means there is no PV value here which is moving .

How to resolve this ?

Regards,

Strip charts can be problematic at times, but I'm mostly thinking about the ones that were predefined in the depressuring tool, where it would have every parameter being reported etc and it was chaos and setting up your own in the tool never worked the same.

But i'm guessing you are in Dynamics and setting up new strip charts.

One thing that comes to mind is that time axis boundary / display limits are not letting you see data.

These are the little red and yellow triangles on the time axis.

Give these a slide back and forth to see if the data can be shown.

Additionally, in the simulation side pane (Hysys V8 and newer) that lists all the items, there is a category called Stripcharts, this shows all the stripcharts in your simulation.

From here you can view the historical data for your strip chart.

This will atleast tell you if the simulation has recorded data for your parameter and that its just the time axis on your strip chart hiding it from you.

Dear Sir,

You are right actually.. I tried extending time axis now but still it is not showing anything now.

How to setup time axis properly. I have set up logger as 3600 and 5 seconds but still i ma not seeing PV line moving on chart.

tough one.

If it is showing historical data and not showing up on the strip chart it seems like a range issue.

Right click on the strip chart and "auto scale all axis" or something to that effect.

Other option, just generate a new stripchart with a flowrate or pressure, something that will move.

But don't worry about the setup, I can't recall really doing too much to them in the past

normally, the default sampling time is 20s, and default log size is 300 points, which means that you at least can get 6000s trend.  The reason you can't see the trend only two: 1. the variable is not added in the trend. 2, the trend is out of the show range (right click, select auto scale all curves).
