Dear all,

I apologize in advance that I am posting the same question.
But, something went wrong with my previous post.
My question is how can I derive a system resistance curve, which will indicate the effect of throttling.
Generally, when we have a control valve downstream of a pump, there are two effects on the hydraulic system:

  • the resistance in the hydraulic system reduces because of the lower flow (throttling=less flow through the hydraulic system)
  • the resistance in the control valve increases

These two effects increase in the head of the hydraulic system.

I derived an equation of the resistance curve including the DP due to the valve.
But, from this equation it is not evident that the resistance curve is shifted to the left
Could you help me with that? Or give me your point of view on this topic?

Please see attached the screenshot.

Thank you in advance!
