[Halflight]

Hello,

 

I'm looking for a reference or rule to estimate pump efficiency. I got a table from a coworker but we didn't know the basis of this. So I want to find out who knows about this table or either else reference.

PS. The engineering unit of capacity is m3/hr. If you think this table doesn't make sense, please tell me. If don't, I'll use this table anyway.

Attached an estimation of pump efficiency based on developed head and flow rate ( F, G) :  EFF 

 

F , head in Ft

G , flow in GPM

 

EFF ( pump percentage efficiency )

 

EFF= 80- 0.2855*F+3.78E-04 *F*G -2.38E-07 *F*G^2 +5.39*E-04*F^2 -6.39*E-07*F^2*G +4E-10 *F^2*G^2

Hi Halflight,

 

Efficiency also is based on the type of pump. Reciprocating has a higher efficiency than centrifugal. breizh gave the best efficiency estimation for a single stage centrifugal pump. Multi-stage centrifugal will definitely have a different estimation techniques.
