Gents, 

        We are working at 1 HEXENE plant , the catalyst ( chrome with aluminum alkyl ) 0.5" line get plug due to not good flushing with ethyl benzene ( solvent ) we tried with pneumatic pump with 250 KG ethyl benzene  , still the line plug.

 

 

Any advised will be appreciated.

Hi,

If not too long you may have to rebuild the line !

Note : be extremely careful with the materials stuck in the pipe if you decide to dismantle the line  (PPE , Hot work,...)

Hi,

Don't expect much from members , this could be an operation leading to fatalities. You should refer to MSDS and take contact with manufacturer of this substance to get advices . Make sure your management team is fully aware about the risks associated with the materials .

Be aware what you will do.

 

Ones we have a pirofocic catalyts plug into a line.. We decided insolated this line, Blind it.

 

We installed a new catalyst line to the reactor.
