Hi everyone

I have a tank of butane in his liquid phase, after that we have control valve and a pump , i would like to know if it's possible to calculate the NPSHa of the pump function to the level of the liquide in the tank in dynamic mode ( sphere 500 m3 ) with liquid flow 250 m3/h.

(exemple at 50% of the level , the NPSH is 5 m , at 70 % is 6 m ) .

thank you

Hi,

Yes, you can, refer to the definition of the NPSH (document attached).

You need to be able to calculate the head loss on the suction line, the vapor pressure of your liquid @ temperature (simulator will do).

It's a repetitive calculation.

Good luck,

Breizh

Hii Breizh

As mention the simulation model, can you shared the similar link of simulation model (Hysys) for different level of tank to measure the pressure of the end point.

Hi,

Sorry I don't have simulator, not a complicated task to perform on your own.

Good luck

Breizh
