Hi all, pretty new to this forum!

Recently graduated and working for a startup company, building pilot plants.

 

Regarding a small side project i was asked to design and size a qteam accumulator vessel.

 

this vessel will be tied into a steam supply line, coming from a boiler.

I,ve got the following information:

 

incoming steam = 400 kg/hr, 5 barg

requested output of accumulator: 400 kg discharge in 10 minutes, 3 barg (2400 kg/hr for 10 minutes)

recovery time= 50 minutes ( 1 full cycle is 1 hr)

i’ve found some info online regarding thid topic, but i hope you guys and gals, could help me.

I know that the surface area of the water in the vessel is very important.

My biggest nightmare is under or overdesign this vessel.

So you don't have to look around the forum to figure out an answer. People here is treated as professionals. That is, one thing is to ask for a second opinion after you show what you did, or answering an specific question that you find difficult. Asking others to do your job is a non starter.

Basically, you repeated your problem statement and said, "help me".  To us, that looks like you did not even try, and you want SGOTI to spoon feed you.

 

No thanks.

 

Engineer up, and do your job!  If you have a specific question, after you research and make a bona fide attempt(s) at a design, please let us know.  Someone should be glad to help.  Personally, I have no experience with steam accumulators, but I will be following, so I can learn.

Then incoming steam flow rate should be 480 kg/h...right?
