I am currently working with process simulators like Aspen Plus and have encountered difficulties in simulating solids. I'm interested in understanding how these issues impact heat and material balances and the best practices for addressing them.

Additionally, I've come across a study discussing the activation of chemistry in Aspen Plus and its effects on simulation results. I'm having trouble comprehending the ultimate impact and physical outcome of this activation, particularly in the context of lithium fluoride (LiF) dissolution.

I would appreciate any insights or experiences related to:

The effects of simulating solids on heat and material balances in process simulations.

The potential impacts of activating chemistry in Aspen Plus on results and physical outcomes.

Strategies or resources for effectively managing solid simulations and overcoming challenges.

Thank you in advance for your valuable input!

Hi Inbsak

I am a student in mechanical engineering and a part of my thesis is focused on modelling a clinker production plant. As you already mentioned that you work in this area, I would like to ask for your assistance in the modelling. the most important part that I am struggling with is modelling a combustion chamber in which the products will provide the kiln with heat required for the calcination and clinkerization.

I would appreciate if you let me know if that is possible for you to assisst me.

regards

See the long list of references for a paper describing clinker production models at this link: https://www.research...AND_PRECALCINER

There are many books or manuals which show how to calculate a clinker.

Done by hand, there are no symulator trustable for this calcination process up to now.
