Dear all,

We see distillation columnn with side draws, Distillate and Bottom product, even without pump around loop and internal reflux control loops.

Some distillation columns with Pump around loop and Internal reflux control loops.

May I know, What is the final basis for choosing pump around and Internal reflux loops in the distillation columns?

Hi,

My answer will be Capex and technical challenges.

I had experience with columns working under vacuum where the melting point of the overhead product was above 150 C, even 170C. The condensers were above the columns, total condensers and the distillate was collected on the side of the columns.
