Hi,

I have a case where molten sulfur is added through 1" steam jacketed line from molten sulfur storage tank to Reactor.

Now, The flow is by gravity means and velocity is about 0.13 m/s. The length of slanted line is approx 2 metres.

The need for control valve instead of on/off valve is to achieve controlled feed ratio with other incoming feed as well.

The sulfur storage tank and Reactor is at atmospheric condition and whatever inlet pressure (P1) is available is because of static head of molten sulfur. The P1 is approx 0.13 Kg/cm2(g) and it will approach zero as addition progress.

As i don't have enough delP for control valve to be operational, what else can be done.

Support is highly appreciated.

Hi,

Consider load cells to actuate on/off valve. Of course, a PLC is needed to calculate the mass introduced and the flow rate.

This will work.
