Dear colleagues,

I am a production analyst at a fuel terminal and I need to prepare a presentation on green diesel storage for an event. Would anyone have any references they could recommend to me?

Thanks you

Is any special storage care necessary? Does the tank need to be stainless steel, or can it be carbon steel with epoxy paint like fossil diesel?

You have no a necessary background . You should task a process engineer. Note that 'green diesel' comprises of a wide range of grades which might require totally different process means for storage.

In general - 80% of diesel cases (green or blue or gray or whatever) require CS and atm storage.

Gasoils are the perfect products to be stored in fixed roof atmospheris CS tanks.

Of course the required control & safety instruments & vents shall be installed.

Fire fighting measures shall also be applied according to the local & international rules.

Basic reference texts, on the process side, are API 2000 and few NFPA codes.

This site is also plenty of discussions and references.

Just for fun, I remember that, when biodiesel was just introduced in refineries, one of my clients told me that their biodiesel tanks were filled by storms of mosquitos :-)

Good luck!
