Let Down Vessel In Methanol Process

Trying to properly understand the purpose of the letdown vessel in the methanol process. I would appreciate any insights or suggestions where I can find genuine information about this please. Thank you so much

I suggest you offer more details about your questions. There is more than one way to produce methanol. Perhaps link to the process flow diagram or process description would be useful so you can explain what you know or don't know about this specific process unit. In general, letdown vessels refer to flash drums after a pressure reduction. Their purpose is to separate the vapor and liquid phases at the reduced pressure.
